2024 BMGC BOARD ELECTIONS

The election of five spots on the BMGC Board of Directors was concluded on November 14th, 2023.

Please congratulate in no particular order Buddy Grazioli, Art Longoria, Rob Moore and Ed Sayer to three year terms starting on January 1, 2024.

Bruce Frink received the fifth most votes and will serve out the remainder of Bob Bauman’s term, which expires on December 31, 2024.

Rob Moore has graciously offered to switch spots with Bruce Frink, which the Board of Directors has voted to accept. This means that Rob Moore’s one year term will end on December 31, 2024 and Bruce Frink’s three year term will end on December 31, 2026.

Our Board members serve the greater interests of our club - in budgeting our club’s revenue and expenses, organizing & running our monthly tournaments, Out of Towner tournaments, Team Play, annual holiday party, overseeing our Handicap Committee and representing our club's interest with American Golf and the Rose Bowl Operating Company. There is plenty to do whether you serve on the board or not and we invite you to participate.

BMGC BOARD CANDIDATE STATEMENTS

BRUCE FRINK
Fellow Avid Golfers, If you are reading this, then it’s safe to say you are a fellow avid golfer and committed to ensuring that BMGC continues to serve our members and the community in the most effective way possible. I love this game and I am running for a position on our Board to help in any way I can. Most likely, I will be able to assist in the treasury functions as my career has been in corporate finance as well as stints serving as a Controller. I have worked at Disney, Yum! Brands and now currently at Access Services, where I handle our budgeting/forecasting as well as oversee our accounting team.
I have been a full member of BMGC for about 3 years now and was an Associate member for 15-20 years prior. I regularly play in the Sunday Skins game as well in several tournaments throughout the year. I also was able to help in one SCGA Team Play match last season and then in the next one, not so much. Looking forward to 2024! Moving on, I am proud to be a member of BMGC as it is a very well-run club and it is committed to growing the game through it’s involvement with First Tee and the Pasadena City Championships. I ask for your vote so I can help maintain these strong traditions and help the club do even more in our community.
Thanks for your consideration.

JOHN GANDARA
I am interested in becoming a member of the Brookside Men’s Golf Club Board of Directors. I have been golfing at Brookside for over 20 years and a member of BMGC for the last 5. I golf often and am a regular at the club’s skins games, and tournaments. I have also participated in SCGA Team Play.

It is important that BMGC continue to have a healthy membership, maintain its high standards, and have a great respect for the game we all love. I want to continue to foster the ability the club provides, to form great lasting friendships. The fiscal health of BMGC is also of the utmost importance. As a member of the Board I can help to ensure a healthy future for the club as we are faced with challenges in the time ahead.

I am employed by GKN Aerospace (36 years). My program at this time is F35 military aircraft windshields and canopies. During my tenure I have had many job assignments and am currently Production Floor Manager.

I am a lifelong resident of the Pasadena area and currently reside in South Pasadena. I truly enjoy my time spent with BMGC. It’s a great organization and a lot of fun. Thank you for your consideration.

BUDDY GRAZIOLI
Gentlemen, I have had the privilege of serving on the Board as a member, Secretary and now Treasurer over the past few years and I look forward to the opportunity to represent the membership in a leadership role again. As a club, we are on very sound financial footing, but we can always do better to increase the quality of the events, the prize money, course maintenance, design and the experience for our members and guests. There are a lot of changes that have affected Brookside over the past few years as the Rose Bowl struggled to identify sources of revenue to pay for its renovation. As a Board we have quietly but aggressively worked with the SCGA, the Rose Bowl Operating Committee and the club management to ensure that the voices of the membership are heard and represented in decision making. But there are still a host of programs and capital improvements being planned that will impact Brookside for years to come. As a Board member, I am committed to ensuring that Brookside members will continue to be informed of and represented in the future evolution of Brookside Golf Course. Thank you.

ART LONGORIA
Have been a Board Member for more than 25 years, and still have the desire to offer my time and energy to serve on the Board for another 3-year term. Brookside Men’s Club has always been, and continues to be, very important in my life. Would like to continue my participation with the Club, and that is why your support for my reelection is sought. Remember this slogan when you vote . . . “ART has smART strategies, solid outcomes"

ROB MOORE
Pasadena City Chairman, BMGC Tournament Assistant Chairman. I have served on the board since 1982, a continuous effort to make Brookside Men’s Golf Club, and the golf course, a great place to belong and play. I’ve seen many changes to the course and the demographics of the club over this time and I feel we can do better. If elected, I will strive to make the tournaments better, the club even better.
Thank You, Rob Moore

ED SAYER
I have been an active member of BMGC for over twenty years and a board member for the past fifteen years. It has been my pleasure to serve two years as the Membership Chairman, two years as the Associate Membership Chairman and fifteen years helping with the website and assisting the tournament committee with online signups and communications. I enjoyed participating in BMGC team play for nine years and representing our club in three SCGA finals. It has been an honor serving the club and I look forward to continuing to do my part to ensure we maintain a positive atmosphere of camaraderie and competition.

I am asking for your vote for another term.
