During the January Board meeting, the club’s 2023 budget was approved which includes a $20 increase in the annual Regular Membership dues effective February 1. The additional funds will be used for increased tournament payouts keeping them competitive and to keep up with the rising costs needed to operate the club. We believe BMGC remains one of the best values with play on two of the best public golf courses in our area. Unlike other clubs, prize money for the year is included in your annual dues so you’re only paying for your green fee (and a cart if you ride) each time you play in a BMGC tournament versus paying green fee, cart and an additional $30 - $45 in prize money each time you play.
The 2023 Tournament Calendar is now on-line. You’ll notice the start time for Sunday Tournaments is now 8:00am; something many members have been asking for. Be sure to update your calendar with BMGC events as you make your golf plans for the year.
We expect the three Out-Of-Towner tournaments to be finalized and added to the schedule in the coming weeks.
The SCGA Team Play regular season is just starting. If you are not on a team and would like to participate on Thursday or Saturday, contact our SCGA Team Play Coordinator, Ed Kelly @ kellyej@earthlink.net.
The 87th Pasadena City Golf Championship will be played March 24 – 26. If you haven’t signed up and want to play, I encourage you to add your name to the waitlist; you still have a good chance of getting in since we typically receive a number of cancellations as the date approaches. We are also seeking donations/sponsorships to support the designated charity, First Tee of Greater Pasadena. If you or your company are interested in a sponsorship, you can find out more information here.
We continue to have a Regular Membership referral incentive program in place. If you have friends or colleagues who would like to become a Regular Member, please encourage them to join. Any questions about membership or the referral incentive program should be directed to our Membership Chairman, Brad Barker @ Bbark55@gmail.com.

With the recent rains, both golf courses are recovering nicely after last year’s long hot summer and the many music festivals that significantly deteriorated playing conditions. If you haven’t been out recently, I suggest you make plans to play.
Thank you for your continued membership and participation in our club.
Sincerely,
Doug Philbin
President, Brookside Men’s Golf Club
